๐Ÿชถ WHERE DOES GOD MEET HIS PEOPLE?**

*Temples, Sacred Space, and the Living Path*

๐Ÿ”ฅ **A Thought That Came to Me Today**

Today I went to the temple with my wife.

I’ve been in temples many times over the years, but lately something has been sitting in my mind.

After studying the **Book of Mormon**, the **Nemenhah records**, and the teachings about the **Tuhhuhl Nuhmehn**, I started noticing something.

The way people think about temples can be very different depending on the tradition.

And that made me ask a simple question.

Where does God actually meet His people?

Is it only inside buildings?

Or can sacred space exist wherever people are walking with the Creator?

---

๐Ÿ“œ **Temples in the Bible**

The

Bible

talks about temples many times.

The ancient Israelites built sacred temples in Jerusalem.

These were places where people gathered, prayed, and offered sacrifices.

But the scriptures also contain an interesting warning.

The prophet Stephen said:

> “The Most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands.”

> — Acts 7:48

That statement surprised a lot of people at the time.

It suggested something important.

God is not limited to buildings.

Sacred buildings can help people focus on God.

But God Himself is not confined inside them.

---

๐Ÿ“– **What the Book of Mormon Says**

The

Book of Mormon

teaches something very similar.

The prophet Alma once asked the people a powerful question.

> “Do ye suppose that ye cannot worship God save it be in your synagogues only?”

> — Alma 32:11

Then he explained something beautiful.

God can be worshiped anywhere.

In the wilderness.

In the fields.

In the heart.

The Savior Himself often taught outside temples.

On mountains.

On hillsides.

Among ordinary people.

The most sacred moment in the Book of Mormon — when Christ appears to the people in **3 Nephi** — happens in a gathering of people who simply came together seeking Him.

---

๐ŸŒฟ **Sacred Space in the Nemenhah Teachings**

The Nemenhah teachings describe sacred space in another way.

Rather than focusing on one building, they emphasize something broader.

The **earth itself is sacred**.

The land.

The mountains.

The rivers.

The community.

In the teachings surrounding the **Tuhhuhl Nuhmehn**, the sacred path is not limited to one location.

It is something people carry with them.

The place becomes sacred when people live in harmony with the Creator.

---

⚖️ **Two Ways of Thinking About Sacred Space**

So we begin to see two different approaches.

One approach gathers people into sacred buildings where ordinances and ceremonies take place.

Another approach emphasizes sacred living — where the land, the community, and daily life itself become part of the spiritual path.

These two ideas don’t have to fight each other.

Both are attempts by people to draw closer to God.

But the scriptures keep reminding us of something important.

The real temple may not be the building.

---

๐Ÿ“œ **The Living Temple**

The apostle Paul once wrote something very interesting.

> “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God?”

> — 1 Corinthians 3:16

That idea changes everything.

If the human soul can become a temple, then sacred space travels with the person.

Wherever people live with humility, compassion, and love…

the presence of God can be felt.

---

๐Ÿชถ **What the Records Are Teaching**

When we step back and listen to the different records together, something beautiful appears.

The **Bible** teaches that God cannot be confined to buildings.

The **Book of Mormon** teaches that Christ meets people wherever they seek Him.

The **Nemenhah teachings** remind us that sacred living turns the whole earth into holy ground.

Three witnesses.

Different voices.

But they all point toward the same truth.

God meets His people wherever hearts are humble and open.

---

๐ŸŒ… **The Real Work**

Buildings can inspire us.

Ceremonies can teach us.

But the real temple work happens in the heart.

It happens when people forgive.

When they serve the poor.

When they walk in humility.

When they follow the Savior in daily life.

That is the sacred path.

And when enough people begin walking that path…

the world itself starts to look a little more like Zion.
