Discovery 12

๐Ÿ•Š️ Following the Voice

The Peacemaker Still Leads His People

"Truth does not compete with truth. It completes it."

Listen to the NEW Narration:   Follow the Voice

❓A Question Worth Asking

If Jesus Christ lives...

If He is the Good Shepherd...

If He is the Head of His Church...

Shouldn't He still lead His people?

The Bible says yes.

The Book of Mormon says yes.

Joseph Smith said yes.

Then I discovered the Nemenhah Sacred Records.

And they may say it most beautifully of all.

๐Ÿ“– The Bible

Jesus declared:

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."
(John 10:27)

And again:

"When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth."
(John 16:13)

๐Ÿ“– The Book of Mormon

Nephi promised:

"The Holy Ghost... will show unto you all things what ye should do."
(2 Nephi 32:5)

Moroni ended with the invitation:

"By the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."
(Moroni 10:5)

๐Ÿ“– Joseph Smith

Joseph Smith taught that revelation did not cease.

Every disciple was invited to receive the Holy Ghost and seek the mind and will of God.

The Restoration began because one young man listened to the voice of God.

๐Ÿชถ The Nemenhah Sacred Records

Here is where the Record completely changed my understanding.

After teaching the ordinances of the Tuhhuhl Nuhmehn (Holy House), the Peacemaker says that those who receive them should receive them through the guidance of the Haymehnay.

Then He gives one of the most remarkable purposes of the Holy House:

"...that all who entered into the Tuhhuhlnuhmtsipi might learn to walk with Him upon the Way and be instructed by Him."

Notice who does the teaching.

Him.

The Peacemaker Himself.

The purpose is not merely to receive ordinances.

It is to learn to walk with Him.

The Record continues:

"...that they might one day emerge from the preparatory state and be presented before Aylohhihm in their finished and ascended state."

Then the Peacemaker gives His commission:

"Go now forth... teach my Gospel... gather them together and prepare them to see my face."

He doesn't merely tell them to prepare for a ceremony.

He tells them to prepare to see His face.

Then comes one of my favorite verses:

"I shall visit they that are prepared and the righteous shall meet with me upon the Way."

Then His final reminder:

"Remember that I am your Peacemaker."

The next chapter continues this same theme.

The Holy House is described as:

"a place of instruction."

It declares:

"None shall prevent anyone who has desire to learn from entering..."

Then it gives a remarkable command:

"Let the principles of the Tuhhuhlnuhmtsipi be taught outside it, that those who wish to enter therein may prepare their hearts and be worthy."

Finally, the Record cautions:

"Let no man or woman determine the worthiness of any other..." and warns against compulsion, calling it contrary to the ways of the Peacemaker.

๐ŸŒฟ Talking Feather's Reflection

This discovery changed my life.

I used to think the goal was simply to arrive at a sacred place.

Now I believe the greater invitation is to walk with a living Savior.

The Holy House prepares us.

The Haymehnay teaches us.

The Peacemaker leads us.

Every step of the journey is meant to bring us closer to hearing His voice.

Not just once.

Every day.

๐Ÿค” Questions to Ponder

  • Am I learning to recognize the voice of the Peacemaker?
  • What does it mean to "walk with Him upon the Way"?
  • Why does the Record repeatedly describe the Holy House as a place of instruction rather than merely a place of ordinances?
  • How can I prepare today to "see His face"?

๐ŸŒฟ Walking Together

The greatest invitation of the Restoration may not simply be restored scripture...

Or restored ordinances...

It may be the restored promise that Jesus Christ still walks with His people.

He still teaches.

He still prepares.

He still speaks.

And those who seek Him...

May still meet Him upon the Way.

Read.
Compare.
Pray.
Listen.
Come and see.
