❓ The Question
One question quietly stayed with me for years.
If Zion is to become a city of peace...
How does God intend it to be governed?
The scriptures often speak of prophets...
Priests...
Kings...
Judges...
But what if heaven placed the greatest responsibility somewhere we have seldom looked?
That question led me to one of the most remarkable discoveries in the Nemenhah Sacred Records.
📜 The Bible
From the beginning, God created man and woman together in His image.
Throughout scripture, righteous women became instruments in preserving His covenant.
- Deborah judged Israel.
- Esther preserved an entire nation.
- Mary became the mother of the Savior.
- Faithful mothers shaped generations of believers.
The Bible consistently shows that when families are strong, nations become strong.
📘 The Book of Mormon
The Book of Mormon quietly teaches the same principle.
One of the most powerful verses in all scripture says:
"...they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them."
Alma 56:47–48
The courage of the two thousand stripling warriors began long before the battlefield.
It began in the home.
The Book of Mormon honors mothers because they shape the next generation of disciples.
👤 Joseph Smith's Teachings
Joseph Smith greatly valued the influence of women.
He organized the Relief Society and envisioned faithful women exercising gifts of faith, charity, healing, and spiritual discernment in building Zion.
He understood that Zion could never be built without righteous families.
🪶 The Nemenhah Sacred Records
This is where I discovered something I had never imagined.
The Nemenhah do not simply honor mothers.
They establish a Council of Mothers as one of the foundational institutions of Zion.
📖 First Book of Tsi-Tuhgohhah — Chapters 9–10
A young woman is welcomed into the Council of Mothers through a sacred ceremony.
She is blessed by the women of the community, receives her stewardship, and is honored for walking in virtue.
Her mother is praised for teaching her to seek the Haymehnay and follow the Peacemaker.
📖 Book of Mohrhohnahyah — Chapter 8
One of the most astonishing teachings in the Record declares that the Mothers' Council becomes the governing council of the people because mothers teach the character of future generations.
The record explains that when fathers honor mothers, children learn respect.
When girls understand their divine worth, they grow in virtue.
When boys are taught to honor women, they become protectors rather than abusers.
Peace begins in the home before it is ever seen in society.
📖 Second Book of Ohahtsahtsay Pen — Chapter 2
The Nemenhah teach that a new community is not fully organized until a Council of Mothers has been established.
The Mothers prayerfully nominate community leaders.
The people then sustain those leaders by common consent.
Leadership begins with prayer, wisdom, and the nurturing influence of righteous mothers.
📖 Book of Tsihohnayah Ahkehkthihm — Chapter 11
Even spiritual leaders are selected through this sacred pattern.
The Mothers' Council seeks revelation.
Names are presented.
The people sustain them.
The process is built upon inspiration rather than ambition.
📖 The Mayntinah Pattern
When trust in local leadership is lost, the Mothers' Council again gathers in prayer.
They seek the Haymehnay.
They nominate new leaders.
The people choose from those nominations through common consent.
The goal is never political victory.
The goal is preserving peace and unity.
💎 Great Discovery
This discovery completely changed the way I think about Zion.
The Nemenhah do not teach that women should rule over men.
Nor do they teach that men should rule over women.
Instead...
They teach that mothers preserve the soul of the nation.
If the mothers remain strong...
Families remain strong.
If families remain strong...
Zion remains strong.
❤️ Talking Feather's Reflection
This discovery caused me to look at my own life differently.
Some of the greatest spiritual influences I have ever known were faithful mothers.
They rarely stood behind pulpits.
They quietly built faith around kitchen tables.
They prayed.
They loved.
They forgave.
They raised disciples.
Perhaps that has always been one of God's greatest works.

- How can fathers and mothers better work together in preparing the next generation?

Zion is not built by power.
It is built by Christlike homes.
The Nemenhah remind us that the strength of a nation is measured first by the strength of its families.
Read the scriptures.
Read the Nemenhah passages.
Compare them carefully.
Then ask God what His pattern for Zion truly is.
