Lesson 10 One Generation of Peace What Happened After Hahgohtl?

๐ŸŒฟ Journey Through the Nemenhah Sacred Records

Lesson 10

One Generation of Peace

What Happened After Hahgohtl?

Listen to the NEW Narration:     Lesson 10 ---- Choose the Better Way

๐Ÿ“– Let's Read the Record Together

This week, read the opening of The Book of Hahgmehni.

As you read, don't worry about understanding every name or every place.

Instead, ask yourself one simple question:

"What is Hahgmehni trying to teach me?"

I think that's the key to understanding this entire book.

๐ŸŒฟ What Happened?

When Hahgohtl finished his record, he left us with hope.

The people had finally found the land the Lord had prepared for them.

After years of hardship...

they finally had peace.

Now Hahgmehni picks up the story.

The first thing that impressed me was his humility.

He doesn't begin by telling us about himself.

Instead, he tells us his father told the truth.

He was there.

He saw what happened.

Then Hahgmehni does something interesting.

Instead of describing one nation...

he compares two.

The Nemenhah continued trying to follow the Peacemaker.

Another people, the Nayfihah, chose a different road.

One nation grew in peace.

The other slowly drifted into pride, greed, and secret combinations.

Right from the beginning, Hahgmehni wants us to see that the choices people make eventually shape the future of an entire civilization.

๐ŸŒฟ Did You Notice?

As I read this chapter, one verse kept coming back to me.

Hahgmehni doesn't blame chance.

He doesn't blame bad luck.

He doesn't even begin by talking about armies.

He points to the heart.

Long before a nation falls...

people begin drifting away from the Peacemaker.

That's where the real battle begins.

I think that's an important lesson.

Nations don't usually collapse overnight.

Neither do families.

Neither do disciples.

It usually happens one small choice at a time.

๐ŸŒฟ What Does This Mean for Us?

I couldn't help asking myself a question.

What kind of generation are we becoming?

Our grandparents handed many of us a knowledge of Jesus Christ.

They gave us scriptures.

Faith.

Families.

Freedom to worship.

Now it's our turn.

Will we preserve those blessings...

or slowly drift away from them?

I think that's the question Hahgmehni is asking every generation.

Including ours.

๐ŸŒฟ Talking Feather's Porch

One thing touched my heart.

Hahgmehni never tried to make himself the hero.

He simply honored the witness that came before him.

That reminded me that none of us begins our journey alone.

Someone taught us.

Someone prayed for us.

Someone sacrificed so we could know the Lord.

As I've grown older, I've become more grateful for those quiet disciples who passed the light from one generation to the next.

Maybe that's our calling too.

Not to become famous...

but to faithfully pass the light to those who come after us.

๐ŸŒฟ A Thought for This Week

As you continue reading Hahgmehni, ask yourself this question:

What choices am I making today that my grandchildren may one day thank me for... or wish I had made differently?

๐Ÿ“– Until Next Time...

Next lesson we'll continue walking with Hahgmehni as he teaches us another remarkable principle from the Nemenhah Record.

Until then...

Keep praying.

And keep listening for the voice of the Peacemaker.
