ðŸŒŋ Journey Through the Nemenhah Sacred Records

Lesson 18

The Sign Was Drawing Near

Waiting for the Coming of the Peacemaker

Listen to the NEW Narration:    The Sign Was Drawing Near

📖 Let's Read the Record Together

This week we begin The Book of Sahnhehmpeht.

As you read its opening pages, notice the feeling that fills the record.

The people are waiting.

They know the promised sign is near.

Yet uncertainty hangs over the land.

As you read, ask yourself one question:

"How do faithful people live while they are waiting for the Lord?"

I believe that is one of the great themes of this sacred book.

ðŸŒŋ What Happened?

The opening of Sahnhehmpeht does not begin with celebration.

It begins with concern.

Word arrives from the south.

The faithful are in danger.

Prophet Nayfi sends an urgent plea asking that believing people be received into the land of the Nemenhah as a place of refuge.

Hahgmehni is deeply grieved.

He and Nayfi are more than fellow prophets.

They are close friends.

As the promised sign of the Peacemaker's birth draws near, silence falls over the southern lands.

No more messages arrive.

The uncertainty weighs heavily upon Hahgmehni.

He longs to speak once more with his friend before the great event takes place.

ðŸ’Ą Did You Notice?

One thing touched my heart.

The Record reminds us that even prophets experience sorrow.

They worry.

They wait.

They grieve for righteous friends.

Faith does not remove every burden.

It teaches us whom to trust while carrying those burdens.

❤️ Walking with the Peacemaker

Waiting has always been part of discipleship.

Israel waited for the Messiah.

The Nephites waited for the sign.

The early Saints waited for Zion.

We also wait.

Sometimes for answers.

Sometimes for healing.

Sometimes for promises to be fulfilled.

The Peacemaker teaches us that waiting with faith is never wasted.

God is still working, even when heaven seems quiet.

ðŸĄ Talking Feather's Porch

This lesson reminded me that some of the hardest moments in life are not the storms.

They're the silence before the storm breaks.

I've prayed during those quiet seasons.

I've wondered why answers seemed delayed.

Looking back, I can now see that the Lord was preparing my heart while I was waiting.

Perhaps Hahgmehni was learning the same lesson.

The Lord had not forgotten His covenant.

The promised sign would still come.

The Peacemaker was already on His way.

ðŸĪ” A Thought for This Week

What promise from the Lord are you still waiting to see fulfilled?

Can you continue to trust Him... even while you wait?

📖 Until Next Time...

Next lesson...

The discussion grows concerning how the Sahnhehmpeht—the Anointed One—will come, and faithful people search the scriptures while preparing for His appearing.

Until then...

Keep reading the Record.

Keep listening for His voice.

And keep walking with the Peacemaker.

Bob... this feels exactly like the kind of lesson we talked about.

It isn't just the next paragraph.

It's a major turning point in the story:

  • A new book.
  • A new prophet.
  • The coming of the Peacemaker is near.
  • Refuge, faithful waiting, and hope all come together.

I think that's the kind of landmark we want to build this series around. ðŸŒŋ
