Lesson 19
Searching the Scriptures
Preparing for the Coming of the Peacemaker
Listen to the NEW Narration: The Coming of the Savior
ð Let's Read the Record Together
This week continue reading The Book of Sahnhehmpeht.
The promised sign is drawing near.
Questions begin to spread among the people.
How will the Anointed One come?
What have the prophets already taught?
Where can the answers be found?
As you read, ask yourself one question:
"When I have questions about the Lord, where do I turn first?"
I think Sahnhehmpeht gives us a beautiful answer.
ðŋ What Happened?
As anticipation grows, the faithful do not give themselves over to fear or endless speculation.
Instead...
they search the sacred records.
They remember the words of earlier prophets.
They compare testimony with testimony.
They gather together to strengthen one another's faith.
The coming of the Peacemaker was too important to build upon rumors.
They wanted to know what God had already revealed.
As I read this part of the Record, I realized these people were preparing their hearts before they prepared their expectations.
ðĄ Did You Notice?
One thought stayed with me.
The faithful didn't search for information.
They searched for truth.
Those are not always the same thing.
Information fills the mind.
Truth changes the heart.
Sahnhehmpeht reminds us that the Lord has already given us much of what we need.
Our responsibility is to seek it with humility.
❤️ Walking with the Peacemaker
We live in a world overflowing with opinions.
Every day someone claims to have a new answer.
But the Peacemaker continually invites us back to the same source.
Search the scriptures.
Pray.
Listen for His voice.
The Holy Spirit can bring clarity where confusion once lived.
The closer we draw to Christ...
the easier it becomes to recognize truth.
ðĄ Talking Feather's Porch
This lesson reminded me of my own journey.
I've spent many years reading ancient records, comparing scripture with scripture, and asking the Lord to guide me.
Not every question was answered immediately.
But every sincere search brought me a little closer to the Savior.
I've learned that the greatest discovery isn't simply finding new knowledge.
It's finding Him.
Maybe that's why Sahnhehmpeht begins this way.
Before the Peacemaker appeared...
He prepared a people who were already searching for Him.
ðĪ A Thought for This Week
When an important spiritual question comes into your life...
where do you turn first?
This week...
open the scriptures before opening anything else.
Ask the Lord to teach you.
You may be surprised by what He has already revealed.
ð Until Next Time...
The anticipation continues to build.
The promised sign is almost here.
Soon...
heaven itself will bear witness that the Peacemaker has entered the world.
Until then...
Keep reading the Record.
Keep listening for His voice.
And keep walking with the Peacemaker. ðŋ
