π Don’t Lift — Just Mash the Gas ----- A testimony from a friend in my LDS ward meeting.
π Don’t Lift — Just Mash the Gas
He stood at the pulpit. A humble brother. No agenda, no theatrics. Just faith. And fire.
He started light, clearing up some family rumor about Ferns, Utah. He joked about being a “problem child” for his wife, and smiled as he honored her patience, her faith, her love. It wasn’t rehearsed. It wasn’t polished. It was real.
And then he said something that cracked my soul open:
“If life is a car... just step on the gas and don’t lift. See what happens.”
π¨ That line wrecked me—in the best way.
π£️ Enough Waiting — Drive
I’ve spent years hesitating. Waiting for others to catch up. Waiting for the Church to fix itself. Waiting for some green light from a pulpit that will never come.
But this brother? He’s not waiting. He’s already driving.
And you know what? That’s the only way Zion will come.
Not by caution. Not by protocol. Not by checking if your tie is straight and your tithing’s paid.
But by faith, raw and real, pressing into the unknown with nothing but Jesus at the wheel.
π One Long Prayer
He talked about counseling his son. Not with platitudes, but with wisdom:
“Wake up and start your prayer. Then don’t say ‘amen’ until the end of the day.”
That’s it, right there. That’s how the early Saints lived. That’s how Enoch walked.
That’s how you become Zion—you make your whole day a prayer.
Not a checklist. Not a talk in General Conference. A relationship.
A running conversation with Heaven so intimate it feels like the veil is barely there.
✨ The Veil Is Thin
He said it like this:
“I ask questions and I get immediate answers. It’s like the veil has been lifted.”
No big visions. No stage lights. Just a child of God asking honest questions—and getting answers.
Why?
Because the Lord wants to talk to us more than we want to talk to Him.
He doesn’t need more formality. He needs more faithful toddlers who won’t stop asking “Why?”
Heaven isn’t far. We’re just distracted.
π£ Walk the Path Anyway
He bore his testimony like a man who’s wrestled with doubt, who’s faced trial, who’s watched things fall apart and still chosen to walk forward.
And I believe him.
I believe because it matches everything the Holy Ghost has been teaching me:
- That Zion is personal before it’s public.
- That revelation is real.
- That it’s okay to be broken and bold at the same time.
- That you don’t have to have it all figured out—just press the pedal.
π¬ My Text to Him (And Maybe to You Too)
“Hey brother,
I just wanted to say how much your testimony touched me today. You spoke with such honesty and light—it felt like living water. The way you talked about prayer as an open dialogue, and how the veil is thinner than we think... that hit home. It’s exactly what I’ve been feeling too, but you said it with such simple power.Your ‘step on the gas and don’t lift’ line is still echoing in me. That’s faith. That’s freedom. And your gratitude for your wife and her steadiness? That was beautiful. I just want you to know—I see it. I feel it. You’re walking the path, brother. And your words helped light mine. Thank you.
Much love.”
π So Mash It
Whatever road you’re on—
Whatever doubts are still nagging—
Whatever corners of Babylon are still tugging—
Mash the gas.
Don’t wait for permission.
Don’t wait for the Church to change.
Don’t wait for the world to approve.
God’s voice is already calling.
Not from the pulpit. Not from the robe.
But from within.
Press in. Don’t lift. And see what happens.
