πŸͺΆ A LOOK BACK IN LOVE What Happened… and What I’ve Learned Walking With Christ

πŸͺΆ A LOOK BACK IN LOVE

What Happened… and What I’ve Learned Walking With Christ

πŸŒ… I Need to Say This First

Before I say anything else…

I need to say this clearly.

I love the Church.

I love the people in it.
I love what I was given growing up.
I love the foundation it gave me in Jesus Christ.

This is not an attack.

This is not me trying to tear anything down.

This is just…
πŸ‘‰ me being honest about my walk with Christ.

And where that walk has taken me.

🧭 PART 1 — WHAT WAS RESTORED

When I look at the beginning…

I see something beautiful.

Joseph Smith wasn’t perfect.
He said that himself.

But something real happened through him.

The Book of Mormon came forth.
And whatever anyone says about it…

πŸ‘‰ it points people to Christ.

Over and over again.

“Come unto Christ, and be perfected in him…” (Moroni 10:32)

“This is the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved…” (2 Nephi 31:21)

That message is simple.

Not complicated.
Not institutional.
Not layered.

πŸ‘‰ Come to Christ.

Joseph taught things that were powerful:

  • That we could receive the Holy Ghost
  • That we could have personal revelation
  • That we could actually come to know the Savior

Not just believe in Him…

πŸ‘‰ but know Him

Like:

  • Enoch
  • Moses
  • The Brother of Jared

That was the restoration.

Not just a church…

πŸ‘‰ but a way back to God.

πŸ“– PART 2 — THE PATTERN IN SCRIPTURE

As I kept studying…

something started to stand out.

This pattern shows up everywhere.

God restores truth…

People receive it…

And then slowly…

πŸ‘‰ it shifts.

Not all at once.

Little by little.

You see it with Israel.
You see it with the Nephites.

Even after Christ Himself came…

they didn’t stay in that place forever.

The Book of Mormon warns us plainly:

“O that cunning plan of the evil one…
he saith unto them: All is well in Zion…” (2 Nephi 28:21)

That one hit me.

Because it’s not talking about “the world.”

πŸ‘‰ It’s talking about God’s people.

And then there’s this:

“And they shall reject the fulness of my gospel…” (3 Nephi 16:10)

That’s directed to the Gentiles.

πŸ‘‰ That’s us.

And even in early Restoration scripture:

“The whole church is under condemnation…” (Doctrine & Covenants 84:54)

That’s not outsiders.

That’s the church itself.

πŸͺΆ PART 3 — WHAT HAPPENED HISTORICALLY

After Joseph’s death…

things got complicated.

There was confusion.

There was a succession crisis.

Different leaders stepped forward.

And the Church moved forward under Brigham Young.

Now here’s where I had to slow down.

Because this is where people usually split into two camps:

  • “Everything after was perfect”
  • or
  • “Everything after was wrong”

I don’t believe either of those.

But I did notice something.

πŸ‘‰ Some teachings introduced later were eventually reversed.

Things like:

  • The Adam–God theory
  • Blood atonement teachings
  • Priesthood and temple restrictions

Over time…

those were corrected or removed.

So that made me ask a simple question:

πŸ‘‰ If those things could be adjusted later…
πŸ‘‰ what else might need to be looked at honestly?

That’s not rebellion.

That’s just being awake.

⚖️ PART 4 — HARD QUESTIONS (ASKED WITH RESPECT)

I started asking questions.

Not angry ones.

Just honest ones.

  • What exactly are “priesthood keys”?
  • Do they replace personal revelation… or support it?
  • Why does the Book of Mormon warn so strongly about pride in “Zion”?
  • Why do we sometimes rely more on structure than on the Savior?

And one of the biggest ones for me:

πŸ‘‰ Am I being pointed to Christ… or to something in between?

Because the scriptures are clear.

The invitation is always direct.

πŸͺΆ PART 5 — MY JOURNEY (THIS IS WHERE IT CHANGED)

I’ll be honest.

There was a time I got frustrated.

Even bitter.

When you start seeing things differently…

it can shake you.

But something changed.

And this is important.

πŸ‘‰ I stopped trying to prove everything.

I stopped trying to win arguments.

And I just started doing one thing:

πŸ‘‰ walking with Christ.

Quietly.

Personally.

Real.

And what I found wasn’t anger.

It wasn’t confusion.

πŸ‘‰ It was peace.

Real peace.

The kind that doesn’t come from being right…

but from being close to Him.

✨ PART 6 — WHAT I SEE NOW

Here’s where I’ve landed.

And I say this with love.

There is still good in the Church.

A lot of good.

People are sincere.
They love God.
They’re doing their best.

And I honor that.

But…

πŸ‘‰ the invitation is still higher.

It always has been.

The Savior didn’t say:

“Follow an organization.”

He said:

“Come, follow me.” (Matthew 4:19)

That hasn’t changed.

Not then.
Not now.

πŸ”₯ WHAT I BELIEVE NOW

I believe:

  • The restoration was real
  • Joseph pointed us to Christ
  • The Book of Mormon is a true witness of Him

And I also believe:

πŸ‘‰ Each of us is meant to go further.

To:

  • Seek Him
  • Hear Him
  • Know Him

Not secondhand.

Not borrowed.

πŸ‘‰ Personally.

πŸͺΆ A FINAL THOUGHT

I’m not asking anyone to leave anything.

I’m not here to tear anything down.

I’m just saying this…

from experience:

πŸ‘‰ Don’t stop where you are.

If what you have has brought you closer to Christ…

that’s good.

But don’t stop there.

Keep going.

Keep seeking.

Keep walking.

Until…

πŸ‘‰ you know Him.

πŸ•Š️

And when that happens…

everything else starts to make sense.
