๐Ÿชถ Seeking God Directly — A Scriptural Pattern (With Citations)

๐Ÿชถ Seeking God Directly — A Scriptural Pattern (With Citations)

Across all records, a consistent doctrine appears:

God reveals truth directly to those who seek Him.

This is not symbolic language.
It is a repeatable pattern.

๐Ÿงญ Foundational Instruction

๐Ÿ“– Bible

In Epistle of James 1:5:

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

This instruction is:

  • individual
  • direct
  • unconditional

There is no intermediary required.

๐Ÿ“– Book of Mormon — Direct Revelation Pattern

Nephi Receives His Own Witness

First Book of Nephi 2:16:

“And I, Nephi… did cry unto the Lord; and behold he did visit me, and did soften my heart…”

Nephi did not rely on Lehi’s experience.

๐Ÿ‘‰ He sought and received his own.

First Book of Nephi 10:17:

“And I… was desirous also that I might see, and hear, and know of these things… by the power of the Holy Ghost…”

First Book of Nephi 11:1:

“For it came to pass… that I was caught away in the Spirit of the Lord…”

Pattern:

  • desire
  • ask
  • receive

Brother of Jared — Direct Encounter

Book of Ether 3:5–6:

“We know that thou art able to show forth great power…
Behold, O Lord, thou canst do this.”

Book of Ether 3:13:

“And because thou knowest these things ye are redeemed from the fall…”

Book of Ether 3:19–20:

“And the Lord showed himself unto him…
having this perfect knowledge of God, he could not be kept from within the veil…”

This is not symbolic belief.

๐Ÿ‘‰ This is direct knowledge through seeking.

๐Ÿ“– Doctrine of Christ — Ask and Receive

Second Book of Nephi 32:5:

“If ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.”

Third Book of Nephi 14:7:

“Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find…”

๐Ÿ“– Nemenhah Records — Direct Seeking of the Peacemaker

The Nemenhah teachings reinforce the same doctrine.

Seek Direct Commission

(Book of Ohuhgohuh / related teachings referenced in your studies)

“Seek the Peacemaker, that you may receive His commission…
and the Haymehnay shall confirm it unto you.”

Confirmation by the Spirit (Haymehnay)

“When the Haymehnay confirms a thing unto you… it cannot be easily denied, for it is written upon your soul.”

Not Through Another’s Authority Alone

“Each must come unto the Peacemaker for themselves…
none may live upon another’s light and endure.”

Teaching Children to Seek for Themselves

“Teach your children to seek the face of the Peacemaker…
that they may know, and not merely believe.”

These teachings align directly with:

  • Nephi
  • Brother of Jared
  • Biblical instruction

๐ŸŒฟ On Sincerity and Inherited Belief

There are many sincere people.

People who:

  • love God
  • act in faith
  • follow what they have received

This includes entire generations who inherited religious structures and traditions.

However:

Sincerity does not replace revelation.

Without direct seeking, belief can become:

  • inherited
  • assumed
  • untested

๐Ÿงญ The Limitation of Borrowed Light

Scripture repeatedly warns against relying on another’s spiritual experience.

๐Ÿ“– Book of Mormon

Second Book of Nephi 28:30:

“For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line…”

Each must receive for themselves.

๐Ÿ“– Alma

Book of Alma 32:27:

“Even if ye can no more than desire to believe… let this desire work in you…”

Faith must become personal.

๐Ÿ“– Nemenhah

“Borrowed light will fail in the day of trial…
only that which is sealed upon the soul shall remain.”

๐Ÿงญ Requirement for the Last Days

It has been taught:

๐Ÿ‘‰ No one will endure without the Holy Ghost

๐Ÿ“– Book of Mormon Confirmation

Second Book of Nephi 32:3:

“Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ.”

Second Book of Nephi 32:5:

“The Holy Ghost… will show unto you all things what ye should do.”

This is not optional.

It is required for:

  • guidance
  • discernment
  • endurance

⚖️ Role of Scripture and Teaching

Scripture and teachers serve a purpose:

  • to point
  • to invite
  • to witness

But they are not the source.

The source is:

๐Ÿ‘‰ God

๐Ÿง  The Consistent Pattern

Across all records:

  1. A question or need
  2. Direct seeking of God
  3. Personal revelation
  4. Confirmed knowledge

This pattern:

  • does not change
  • does not depend on institution
  • does not depend on inheritance

๐Ÿชถ Conclusion

The doctrine across all records is unified:

  • Truth is received from God
  • Knowledge is not secondhand
  • Light cannot be borrowed

Each person must:

๐Ÿ‘‰ ask
๐Ÿ‘‰ seek
๐Ÿ‘‰ receive

๐Ÿงญ Final Statement

If wisdom is lacking:

Ask God.
