πŸͺΆ The Way Is a Wheel, Not a Ladder

Image
πŸͺΆ The Way Is a Wheel, Not a Ladder These last few posts began with a simple question. Why a prayer circle? And somehow that little question opened into something much larger. Lehi’s dream. King Benjamin. Captain Moroni. Mormon. Mohrhohnahyah. The Nemenhah. And one thought kept returning: Maybe the Way is not a ladder. Maybe it is a wheel. I grew up often imagining spiritual life as a ladder. Climb higher. Do better. Reach higher levels. Move upward. And there is truth in growth. But over time I’ve wondered— is that the deepest picture? I’m not sure. Because real discipleship has not felt much like climbing to me. It has felt more like returning. Again and again. To Christ. To Center. A ladder suggests: higher… higher… higher. But the Way often feels more like: wander… return. Forget… return. Fall… return. Pray… return. That feels much more like life. And much more like grace. And maybe that is why the image of a wheel has touched me. A center. Spokes leading inward. Movement aro...

πŸͺΆ Mormon Held the Center in Collapse

Image
πŸͺΆ Mormon Held the Center in Collapse After pondering prayer circles… and Lehi’s path to the Tree… and King Benjamin turning tents toward the temple… and Captain Moroni raising a standard… my thoughts kept settling on Mormon. And a sentence came to me I couldn’t shake: Mormon held the Center in collapse. I have sat with that line. And it keeps growing. Mormon lived while everything was coming apart. Not just politically. Spiritually. Morally. Socially. Everything. His people were unraveling. And he knew it. He saw it. He wept over it. But somehow… he kept his soul turned toward Christ. That moves me. Think about his life. He wasn’t writing in revival. He was writing in ruin. Not in Zion— but after Zion had largely been forgotten. And still… what did he preserve? Faith. Covenant. Christ. Memory. Hope. Even scholars note Mormon and Moroni become witnesses   through   collapse, not outside it.   That matters. Because many of us think faith is easier in peace. Mormon s...

πŸͺΆ The Iron Rod May Be a Spoke

Image
πŸͺΆ The Iron Rod May Be a Spoke A strange thought came to me after writing about sacred circles. It wouldn’t leave me alone. What if Lehi’s dream has been teaching this same pattern all along? And then a thought came so simple it almost made me laugh: What if the iron rod is a spoke… and Christ is the Hub? Now stay with me. I’m not trying to turn Lehi into a diagram. I’m just following a pattern. And sometimes patterns teach. We usually read Lehi’s dream as: Hold to the rod. Avoid the mist. Get to the tree. And that’s true. But what if there’s more? What if the whole dream is about learning how to return to Center? Because that’s what struck me. Everything in the dream moves toward one place. The Tree. And scholars have actually noted the tree is the symbolic center of the whole vision.   Center. That word started opening things for me. Lehi begins in darkness. A dark and dreary waste. How many of us begin there? Confused. Searching. Wounded. Praying for mercy. That sounds a ...

πŸͺΆ Did the Prayer Circle Teach Something We Forgot?

Image
πŸͺΆ Did the Prayer Circle Teach Something We Forgot? A thought came to me the other day in a way I didn’t expect. It started with the temple prayer circle. I found myself wondering— Why a circle? Why has a circle shown up in sacred places? Why not rows? Why not lines? Why a circle? And then another thought came: What if the circle itself is trying to teach something? Not a ritual. A truth. The more I thought about it… the more I started seeing circles all over the place. The prayer circle. The medicine wheel. King Benjamin gathering the people round about the temple. Even—believe it or not— Camelot. King Arthur’s Round Table. Now I know that sounds like a long way from scripture. But maybe not. Because what did the Round Table symbolize? No head seat. No one above another. Equality. Fellowship. A people gathered in shared covenant.   That actually preaches. And I started wondering— what if these are all faint echoes of the same old pattern? God in the center. People gathered ...

πŸͺΆ The Way Was Never Meant to Be Forgotten

Image
πŸͺΆ   The Way Was Never Meant to Be Forgotten There’s something I’ve been sitting with lately… Not trying to prove it. Not trying to push it. Just… feeling it. And I want to share it gently. 🌿   The Way Is Real In the teachings of the Nemenhah, the   Way   isn’t just an idea. It’s not just “be a good person.” It’s not just “follow the checklist.” It’s described as something… real. A place where heaven and earth get a little closer. Where a person can still be here in the body… but begin to walk with God in their spirit. Where learning isn’t secondhand anymore. Where the Savior isn’t distant. Where He teaches. Personally. πŸ•Š️   But It Doesn’t Open All at Once This isn’t something forced open. It opens slowly. As a person: learns listens receives softens Not perfectly… just honestly. And little by little… The distance between them and God starts to feel thinner. 🌫️   The Veil Isn’t Just “Out There” One of the quiet truths in this teaching is this: The...

πŸͺΆπŸ”₯ THE MEDICINE WHEEL — WALKING WITH JESUS IN REAL LIFE (Not just decisions… but becoming like Him)

Image
πŸͺΆπŸ”₯   THE MEDICINE WHEEL — WALKING WITH JESUS IN REAL LIFE (Not just decisions… but becoming like Him) There’s something that’s been coming together for me. We’ve talked about the Medicine Wheel as a way to make   good decisions … clear thinking… careful steps… doing no harm. And that’s good. But I’m starting to see something deeper. πŸ‘‰ It’s not just a decision-making tool. πŸ‘‰ It’s actually a   pattern for walking with Jesus Christ . πŸͺΆ 🟑 THE CENTER — IT’S ALWAYS HIM Every wheel needs a center. And if we’re honest… πŸ‘‰ The center isn’t a principle. πŸ‘‰ It’s not a system. πŸ‘‰ It’s   Jesus Christ . Not just believing in Him… πŸ‘‰ Walking with Him. Talking to Him. Listening. Being real. πŸ‘‰   “Without Him, the wheel doesn’t turn.” πŸ”΅ STEP 1 — SEE YOURSELF (Mother’s Lodge) This is where it starts. Not fixing others. Not analyzing the world. πŸ‘‰ Looking at yourself. Where am I off? What am I feeling? What’s really going on inside me? πŸ‘‰   Truth starts with hon...

πŸͺΆπŸ”₯ WHAT GOD IS REALLY TRYING TO TEACH US

Image
πŸͺΆπŸ”₯   WHAT GOD IS REALLY TRYING TO TEACH US Chiasmus, the Medicine Wheel, and Walking with Christ There comes a point where all the studying… all the comparing… all the searching… πŸ‘‰ starts to come together. Not as more information… πŸ‘‰ but as a   way to live . πŸͺΆ πŸ“– TWO WAYS GOD TEACHES As I’ve studied the   Book of Mormon   and the Nemenhah records… I’ve noticed something beautiful. God teaches us in   two ways at the same time : πŸ”Ή 1.   Chiasmus — How Truth Is Structured Chiasmus pulls everything to the center. And what’s always in the center? πŸ‘‰   Christ Not programs Not institutions Not rituals πŸ‘‰   Him It’s like God is saying: πŸ‘‰   “No matter how you read this… don’t miss the center.” πŸ”Ή 2. πŸͺΆ   The Medicine Wheel — How Truth Is Lived Then you see the pattern again… But this time—not on a page. πŸ‘‰ In life. Gather Learn Sacrifice Trust Continue That’s the Wheel. Not a ceremony… πŸ‘‰ A   pattern of becoming πŸ”₯ πŸ“– THE BOOK O...
