The Invitation That Has Never Changed
There are many invitations in life.
Some invite us to success.
Some invite us to comfort.
Some invite us to knowledge.
Others invite us to follow a particular leader, philosophy, or cause.
But above them all stands one invitation that has never changed.
It comes from the Savior Himself.
"Come unto me."
For nearly two thousand years, those words have crossed every nation, every language, and every generation. They are as powerful today as the day they were first spoken.
Christ did not invite us to simply admire Him.
He invited us to walk with Him.
The Greatest Journey
Many people spend their lives searching.
Searching for happiness.
Searching for purpose.
Searching for peace.
Searching for truth.
The remarkable thing is that Jesus never said we would find those things by chasing them.
He taught that when we seek Him, everything else begins to find its proper place.
"Seek ye first the kingdom of God..."
The order matters.
When Christ becomes first, everything else begins to make more sense.
There Are Many Voices
We live in a noisy world.
Every day someone tells us what to believe.
What to fear.
What to buy.
Who to follow.
The internet never sleeps.
Opinions multiply by the hour.
Yet in the middle of all the noise, the Savior still speaks in the same quiet way He always has.
"My sheep hear my voice."
His voice is rarely the loudest.
But it is always the safest.
Personal Revelation Was Never Meant for Prophets Alone
One of the greatest gifts our Father has given His children is the privilege of hearing Him for ourselves.
The scriptures repeatedly invite us to ask, seek, and knock.
James promises that God gives wisdom generously to those who ask in faith.
Moroni invites us to pray with sincere hearts and real intent.
The Holy Ghost was never intended to replace the Savior.
He was sent to lead us to Him.
Personal revelation is not reserved for a select few.
It is Heaven's invitation to every sincere seeker.
The Scriptures Point to One Person
From Genesis to Revelation...
From the Book of Mormon to every true witness of Christ...
The purpose is the same.
To bring us to Jesus.
The scriptures are not merely books to study.
They are signposts pointing us toward a living relationship with the Son of God.
Knowledge alone cannot save us.
Knowing Him changes everything.
Walking With Christ
Coming unto Christ is not a single moment.
It is a lifelong journey.
It is choosing forgiveness when resentment feels easier.
Choosing humility over pride.
Choosing truth over convenience.
Choosing compassion over criticism.
Little by little...
Day by day...
He shapes our hearts until they begin to resemble His.
Discipleship is not measured by how much we know.
It is measured by how much we become like Him.
He Still Receives All Who Come
Perhaps the most beautiful truth of all is this:
Jesus never asked people to clean themselves up before coming to Him.
He invited fishermen.
Tax collectors.
Sinners.
Widows.
Children.
The broken.
The doubting.
The forgotten.
His invitation has always been the same.
Come.
Come with your questions.
Come with your burdens.
Come with your fears.
Come with your imperfect faith.
He is not waiting with condemnation.
He is waiting with open arms.
The Invitation Is Still Open
If there is one message worth sharing with the world, perhaps it is simply this:
Come unto Jesus Christ.
Pray honestly.
Open the scriptures.
Listen for His voice.
Trust the quiet whisperings of the Holy Spirit.
Walk with Him one day at a time.
You do not need to have every answer before taking the first step.
You simply need to begin.
Because the greatest discovery any soul can make is not merely learning about Christ.
It is coming to know Him.
And that invitation...
has never changed.
